Misión Latina, Inc.’s Mission Statement:
Misión Latina, Inc. is being formed to promote the empowerment of the Latino-Hispanic
community in Baltimore County, and its surrounding regions. This will be achieved by
developing and nurturing the potential of our Latino-Hispanic families & youth in the
following areas:
1) Education 3) Cultural
2) Leadership 4) Economic Development
5) Community Outreach
The reason for concentrating on these factors is so our families & youth may contribute
their skills and commitment to obtaining “IntraCultural Inclusion” among Latino-
Hispanics & the communities they reside in.
Based on these factors, Misión Latina, Inc. has defined its Mission as follows:
To serve U.S. Hispanic-Latino youth through innovative and experiential learning
opportunities, empowering them with the skills necessary to become a contributing
member of their community.

Based on the research, best presented by, the Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants
and Refugees (GCIR, September 2006) organization, we believe that the empowerment of
the Latino-Hispanic community is possible and necessary, and best achieved by, reaching
out to the most vulnerable individuals, our youth.
In providing Latino-Hispanic youth with opportunities, guidance, and assistance we can
nurture knowledge, outreach, leadership, cultural, and skill-building participation. Through
this we are creating a positive social interaction that allows for a healthy “Intra-Cultural
Inclusion” between the Latino-Hispanic & the general community. We pay special
importance to the term and the meaning of “Intra-Cultural Inclusion”.
