Welcome/Bienvenidos,

This is the official website for the Maryland FúTBOL Club (MD-FC). This is a competitive
soccer team made up of primarily members from our underserved communities in
Baltimore City and Baltimore County. As a team we represent various countries, such as,
U.S.A., Colombia, Mexico, Honduras, Jamaica, Guatemala, El Salvador, etc...

In the course of 3 1/2 weeks this Summer 2009, Roberto Carmona, Co-Captain (team
member/worker/volunteer at CASA of MD) registered the club under Team Mexico for the
5th Mayor's Cup Soccer Tournament during the Baltimore International Festival in early
August. I, Eduardo D Hayden, joined the team as Co-Captain and player and together
with the help of Bessie Torres from CASA of Maryland we coordinated and managed to
create a wonderful team.

The tournament served as a launching pad for what is now being nurtured, which is the
Maryland FúTBOL Club (MD-FC). MD-FC is now the vehicle by which we can continue to
serve the players and their families, as well as giving them the opportunity to live and
breathe the sport that to many is part of who they are. While on the FúTBOL pitch, these
players transform and for a brief moment they are allowed to simply enjoy their hard work
and dedication.

Even though I too am a player, my involvement is for the beauty of the game and for the
camaraderie of the team. All donations and support requested is for those players in
need, and to cover any costs for participating in local or state tournaments, equipment
needs of the players, and my hope to provide them with a small stipend for their sacrifice
during such tournaments.

Also, my involvement is to reach out and let our community know that they now have the
Maryland FúTBOL Club as a strong & positive representative. I have also provided this
website, our team logo, and t-shirt designs as a donation. The purpose is to assist them
in raising the necessary funds and support to allow for their continuous participation. On
